Renovations to the Tanzy Patch are forthcoming too

Mess! Chaos! Total utter confusion and all things disorderly! Thus began my journey into the world of bathroom remodeling. Because I am extremely slow at these things (three hours to hang a curtain rod for goodness sakes), I started dismantling the bathroom, oh, a good two weeks ago. It took two hours to take the towel bar and toilet paper holder off - TWO HOURS - because the builders had decided to GLUE the darn things on. Who glues these things on?? Bad BAD builders do. In the ideal world, they would be mounted with brackets and screws and things. So in the end, I just RIPPED them off, taking chunks of drywall off too.

And then came the baseboards. Oh the baseboards. Not glued, thank goodness, but all those darned nails! Another many hours and dents in the wall later, all the pieces were neatly numbered and stacked on the floor. I plan to replace them with TALLER baseboards in order to hide all the nasty screwdriver marks I left on the wall, haha.

So for the past week, I have been resetting screw pops (they didn't use nails in this particular bathroom...) and patching all the holes. I have become a perfectionist in this regard, applying drywall compound, sanding, reapplying drywall compound, re-sanding, etc. etc. to make sure every single little hole is perfectly level with the surrounding wall. I'm still not done - I sure ripped a lot of drywall off with the toilet paper holder!

I still have to decide on a color for the walls and the trim. The cappuccino-like color I settled on earlier seems too...safe. Perhaps a super dark brownish oyster color. My manager's wife recommended a trim color, but it looks really yellow in the sample. Decisions, decisions!
