In other exciting news, my manager's wife is going to help me pick out colors to paint my house! She's even started a book for me to keep track of everything.

I feel like I have a good handle on all the things going on at work right now. Everything in my little kingdom is humming along. Dear Readers, let me know if you are planning to buy a car in the next few months. I have a thousand bucks for you.

I am going somewhere beachy in May. Cuba, Dominican Republic, Mexico, perhaps. Any suggestions, advice? A coworker told me to tip with baseballs, toothpaste, and other things that aren't readily available in that area.

So I was making dinner last night. I boiled some Shanghai bok choy, washed some rice, and marinated some chicken. As the chicken was cooking, I heard the rice cooker switch pop up, signaling that the rice was done. Perfect timing, I thought. The chicken turned a nice golden brown color, and I tossed the bok choy in for a final stir. I grabbed a plate, took the lid off the rice cooker and looked at the rice. That's weird, I thought, the rice looks rather...pebbly...and brown. I stared for a few more seconds, perplexed. Then I realized! Horror of horrors! I had forgot to put water in with the rice!
